Chapter 23. The Meeting

Jake’s POV

I looked at the phone and then smiled. I could understand her coldness and I knew that it wasn’t her fault. Milan wasn’t comfortable around her kind because her pack banished her after they found out that she was pregnant after cheating on her mate who rejected her.

I knew that for me to be able to lift the curse placed on me by the Moon Goddess, I had to make Milan fall in love with me and accept me as her mate then this long overdue curse would be broken.

I sighed and lay my head on my pillow staring at the ceiling wondering what our meeting at the coffee shop was gonna be like.

Would things be awkward with us? I turned and faced a clock close to my bedside and realized that the time was 11 pm.
