Chapter 8. I’m the Father of the Child

Jake’s POV

The next morning, I woke up and realized that I had to attend the event today. I sure wasn’t happy about it.

As I got dressed, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of dread about the day ahead. I knew it was an important event, but I also knew it would be full of politics and posturing, which was not something I enjoyed.

But I reminded myself that it was part of my job as Alpha, and I had to be there to represent my pack. I put on my best clothes and made my way to the Night Shade Pack’s territory.

When I arrived, I was greeted by the Beta of the pack, who led me to the main hall where the ceremony was to take place.
