Chapter 25. The Fall of Grandmasters

As I squeeze my purse, I can feel my pistol tucked in it, but I make no attempt to take it out. I don’t have the luxury of time, if I try to make any sudden moves, Violet will by no means hesitate to shoot me dead.
Especially considering that I am not on her good side.
“You wanted to talk, drop the weapon down, and let’s do just that,” I say boldly to her, and she smirks as she lowers her gun. I then sit on one of the three couches.
If only she can see how my legs are shaking right now under this dress. When that gun was held at me, my throat went dry as the sand on a very hot and sunny day.
She walks up to me and sits right next to me on the couch.
“You’re looking very good for someone who just came from the dead,” I joke to try to lighten the mood, but even I know that jokes are not going to get me out of this.
“You tried to have me killed, why?” She asks me. She still has her gun in her hand, but now she is holding it loosel
