Chapter 29. Hidden Realities

“Yeah, I’m not talking to Mitch,” I tell Ben as he holds the phone in his hand.

He places the phone back to his ear and tells my message to Mitch. After a few seconds, he ends the call and puts the phone in his pocket.

“What did he say?” I inquire.

“Well…are you sure you would like to hear me tell you?” He fires a question to me without answering mine.

“Spit it out, Ben,” I reply to him.

The plane shakes a bit due to turbulence, causing my heart to skip a beat. I love flying, but I definitely do not like the turbulence that comes with it.

“He said that he won’t force you to speak to him, but you would eventually have to, considering that you are going to be his wife,” Ben explains to me, and I squeeze my hands shut as a way to control the anger that I feel.

“Are you okay? You look like you want to kill someone,” Ben says to me as he chuckles nervously.
