Chapter 43. I Love Her

Ethan’s POV

I watch as Emma storms from my office with tears streaming down her face. This isn’t exactly how I expected her to respond. I expected to see relief on her face now that she is free to go to Daniel. But that isn’t what I saw at all. It was like I could see her heart breaking in front of me. I look at the divorce papers that she flung across the desk at me. Tears stain the ink of her signature and my heart breaks.

She always swore that she and Daniel were nothing more than friends but after I saw them kiss on the training field I could never fully trust her again. All of the stories that Emily has whispered in my ear over the past year did not help my decision to divorce her. You can only hear so many stories about your lover before you start to believe them.
