Chapter 51. Reunion

Emma’s POV

We drove all through the night and into the next day. Only stopping for bathroom breaks. Every couple of hours Alpha Duncan would hand me another vial of that strange liquid to cover myself in. Each time it burned my skin but I didn’t dare complain. I know that this is the best way for me to hide from Ethan.

My stomach begins to rumble with hunger and Alpha Duncan turns around and smiles at me. “I know that it has been a long drive,” he says with a caring tone to his voice. “But we can’t risk stopping for more than a few minutes at a time.”

“I understand,” I say quietly as I lay my hand on my stomach. Any day now my flat stomach will begin to change and a small bump will grow. I had to get out of there before Ethan figured out what was going on.
