Chapter 52. Time To Move On

Emma’s POV

I look around the office and am surprised at how different it looks from Ethan’s office back home... I mean, in the Crescent Pack. While Ethan’s office is sleek and modern, Alpha Duncan’s appears to be hundreds of years old. Leather bound books line his book shelves, along with several plaques, and scrolls. The only piece of modern technology that is in the room is the laptop that sits in the center of his desk.

“What do you think,” Alpha Duncan says cheerfully as he steps behind his desk. He holds his arms open wide to showcase his office.

“It is lovely in here,” I whisper in awe. “Everything looks centuries old.”

“That is because most of it is,” Alpha Duncan tells me as he sits behind his best and gestures for me to have a seat across from him.

“Have you ever been initiated into a pack before?” He asks me curiously.

“When I was marked by Ethan,” I whisper quietly. The pain of leaving him behind is still fresh in my mind.
