Chapter 24. Preparations
Bronson’s POV
At the council meeting…
“My lord, it remains unclear what the rogues are up to this time. There has been no movement from their side in more than a week.” My head of warriors, Mathew, reported, and my brows scrunched up into a frown.
For their activity to suddenly cease, is not simple.
“Do not stop monitoring them,” I uttered icily. “Make sure there are enough warriors situated at the borders, and increase the number of the patrol guards. We must not give them any leeway for a surprise attack.”
An elder spoke up, “My lord,” He stood up and gave a light bow before proceeding. “The rogues would never be quiet unless they are planning something big. We could arrange some of our men to ambush them, and take all their camps out before they could resort to any move against us.”
After saying his piece, he sat back down and I contemplated his statement. But there was one flaw in the plan.
