Chapter 31

Serena POV

I stepped out and shut the door of Myles’s office behind me gently. For some reason, my heart was thumping loudly within my chest as his words continued to ring in my head.

Now, I know you probably think of me as some kind of a badass Alpha female, but to be honest, I was pretty much hurt at Myles’s words. I didn’t want to stay there for a minute longer.

I stopped outside and leaned on the door, trying to get a better grip on myself before heading out. Somehow, just somehow, I was scared too. Myles had never opened up that much, and the way he suddenly did so was kinda scary.

He did not attempt to follow or call out to me following my sudden exit, and I was greatful he didn’t. I took quick breaths and then headed towards the exit, I couldn’t wait to get out of that building.
