Myles POV
This was Murphy, this was the ghost’s doing. He wanted to disrupt my peace in every aspect. He wanted to really make me feel it and I couldn’t deny that he was slowly getting what he wanted.
He knew I would very much like to take this case. He knew very well that I’d be obliged to take the case as much as I didn’t want to; if not, he’d get away with it, and what’s more? The media would paint me differently.
I had to think about this. I had to think this thoroughly before taking any actions, but for now, I pushed the thought of it to the back of my mind.
My eyes met the calendar on the wall, and for a while, I stopped and stared at it in silence. The wedding, my supposed wedding, would be coming up soon in a matter of days and I wasn’t doing anything to prepare for it.
