“Damien, what are we going to do now? You’re not the only one who wants to buy that company. I should have known that Cassandra would be in trouble again…”
Candice was pacing around the office, distracting Damien—not in the way she was hoping, but in an irritating way that made him want to fling her out of the window so that he wouldn’t have to see or hear from her again. That would be strangely calming to him.
She looked over at him, and when she saw that she was not getting the attention she was desperately craving, she got even closer, allowing him to smell her perfume, which always managed to annoy him no matter how many times he had noticed it.
