“Rafa,” Aleah called in the middle of their journey to the airport.

“Yes, dear?”

“Can’t we settle down in New York and see your parents less? I don’t feel comfortable even one night in the same room with your parents. I feel so intimidated when I’m with them, no matter how much they dislike my existence.” she added, trying to persuade Rafael. It was nothing, but the incident where Lucas had kissed her in the hotel and today’s incident where he hugged her while she was cooking was something Aleah could no longer tolerate.

It was too horrible for Aleah to see Lucas that often.

“Don’t you want to make an effort to get along with my parents? It would be nice to sit at the same table and have a friendly chat.”

“It’s up to you if you want to live in the same country as your parents. Either way, I’ll be staying in New York. Whenever you miss me, you’re welcome to come over,” Aleah snapped at him.
