“Unfortunately, my life is not as beautiful as you think, Aleah. My life is a mess. Maybe this is the price I have to pay for what I did to you,” Samuel said sadly.

Aleah raised her eyebrows and blinked her eyes a few times as she heard Samuel’s words. Seeing the sad smile on Samuel’s face made her wonder if something bad had happened to him.

“Why are you talking like that, Sam? Isn’t your son already grown up, how old is he? It must be nice to see your son grow up,” Aleah asked calmly. She was even enthusiastic when she asked about the age of Samuel’s son.

Of course, she didn’t mean anything by it. Aleah asked that question sincerely, with no intention of mocking or anything else because she had essentially forgotten the misfortune that had happened to her in the past when she was with Samuel.
