Chapter 57
When she curled up in the big armchair to read, Charlie loved to sit in her lap, settling himself so he almost appeared to be reading, too.
The book was one of the three books she was recommended to read by the publishing company to help her with the research she was about to make.
First, she’d found the idea of making research on something as mythical as this ridiculous. Why’d someone spend such a huge amount of money on something as useless as this? Anyways, she’d do it, not because she had an interest in the topic but rather the money she’d squeeze out from it. It was worth the time and energy, she said.
In her grandparents’ mini library, there were several books on the history of Greece. She hadn’t known her grandparents were students of history, especially in a country that had no relationship with their family. Or did it? Did she have ancestors from there several generations back that she just didn’t know about?
