Chapter 63
While Alex excused himself to answer a call which she believed was from the company he was working at, she thought she heard his footsteps, but they’d stopped. When she looked around, there was no sign of a moving body there. Either she’d imagined it or he had gone someplace else, especially since he complained of feeling dizzy since he ate. So, she turned her attention to the game she was playing on her phone.
As if she was told to face her front, she saw a shadow from a distance approaching. Seeing it moving in another direction, she turned and continued pressing her phone. Then she saw the shadow moving towards her again. When it drew closer, she learned that it was a dog, with its head low, as if expecting a reprimand for being in the wrong part of the beach.
