Chapter 103

Clary swallowed and her urge to cry grew with each passing second. “Wh-what do you want?” She tried to sound brave, and in her opinion, she did sound brave.

Star scoffed and then laughed deeply. “You know that I can smell your fear, right?” He stood still and folded his arms on his chest. “You’re drowning in fear, dear. You’re terrified,” He said the last word in a breathy way.

Clary knew that Star was right and she had never felt so defeated. “I know who you really are,” She managed to say, not wanting to give up. “You’re not who you say you are, your name is Star, not Deon.”

Star clenched his jaw when he heard the name spill out of Clary’s mouth. He could feel his anger rising and if this was not in a vision and he was not in her subconscious, he would have ripped her throat out before she could utter another word.
