Chapter 39

“Deal.” My tone was monotone. 

“Really?” He seemed taken aback. 

“Yes, Chad. Just get it done, get my mom out of here.” I hung up the phone and placed it in my pocket. I was really hoping that Chad would come through. I needed my supposed mother out of the house.

With her gone, I could get Jade to come over here, and then we would go back to that dungeon room to come up with the perfect escape plan for my mom. 

It surprised me that Chad did not ask why I wanted my mom out of the house so badly. But a good thing nevertheless.

Another thing was since I did not have Jade’s number on my phone, I had to find a way to get him. And I knew the perfect place he would be: at the ice cream shop. 

I headed out of the room and as soon as I reached the hallway that led to the front door, I met my supposed mom. She was dressed up and was talking on the phone. It took no time for her eyes to land on me.
