Chapter 45

“You see…I told you that he would be upset to see your kind here,” The old lady says as she looks at me. She has a look of pity on her face mixed with concern. She walks close to me and holds my shoulder, almost as a way to protect me from her son.

Her husband seems glad though that his son is back. He isn’t saying much but the look on his face is doing all the talking. 

“I asked a damn question…” The young man withdraws his weapon and points it directly at Ashton. I was the one that brought us here by deciding to listen to my wolf, so I would have to be the one to get us out.

“Can we please calm down?” I plead with the young man with my eyes. “We are only here because we needed help.”

“Sh*t…you’re here. It’s really you; you’re the she-wolf,” The guy replies, and Ashton gives me a questioning look. The young man places his weapon back onto his side and walks fully into the house.
