Despite what the guard said, we all got on our horses and rode away from Sage, the city of vampires. We let Julia lead the way because she was the only one who was able to do so. We were relying on her memory and special ability. 

It took us a few hours but when we reached home, we were welcomed with open arms. Not a lot of people knew that we were gone, but a few people knew. And the ones that knew were high-ranked officials. 

We briefed them about what went on in the city of vampires and they were suspicious as we were about Jacob not wanting to make the killing of Julia’s parents public. 

“Why would they not make the information known to the public? It happened years ago and it was done under their law, so what is the problem?” One of the officials asked us. Although I wanted to go home, back to the penthouse. We ended up at the building where Zayn had his office.

It was in the conference room that we were all at, including four officials.
