Luca went back to Elijah and me. “Please tell your visitor to leave,” he said to his friend, who already had his hand holding onto my wrist.
“Bro, please calm down,” Elijah said to him.
“Calm down? Are you being serious?” Behind, at the couch, Trisha’s voice made us all turn and face her. She was up from the couch and approached me. “You’re what we call a mistake, Elisabeth,” she said.
Again, I was too dumbfounded to even say a word, but Elijah was trying to pacify her.
While I listened to them talk—most especially Trisha’s vicious words toward my family—I wasn’t planning to say a single thing. However, when she kept on continuing to call my dad a murderer, I could not control myself anymore. I grabbed Elijah by her hand and slapped Trisha on her face.
