I took a bite of the fish, savoring the taste as I chewed. I then took a sip of my squash, letting the sweet, refreshing drink slide down my throat.

"Do you remember?" My dad started and I raised my eyes at him while Jude glanced at me.

"Uh... About what?" I asked, my mind going blank as I tried to recall any work that had been assigned to me. I knew my dad was looking serious, and I guess it wasn't about any work assigned to me while I hoped Jude not chim in and cause a fuss about me not remembering what I was to remember.

"I guess you've grown up to forget your mother's death anniversary..." My dad said and just in the space of that moment, I remembered my mum.

Christ! It's been so many years since her passing... I always remembered her anniversary but this year seemed different, how dare I try to forget about my mother!
