Layla’s POV

I rolled my eyes, a small smile playing on my lips. “Oh, come on, Andre. He’s harmless. I can’t wait for him to come back. He makes me laugh, and I could really use that right now.”

Andre let out an exaggerated sigh, rolling his eyes. “You’re too trusting, Miss Layla.”

I couldn’t understand why Andre and Jace were making such a big deal about Marco. Sure, he didn’t look like the typical cleaner, but that didn’t mean he was a threat.

“Andre, Jace,” I said firmly. “You’re overreacting. Marco is just trying to help. Let him do his job without making him feel uncomfortable.”

Andre let out a frustrated sigh. “Miss Layla, it’s our responsibility to protect you. We can’t take any chances.”

“Fine,” I said, exasperated. “But if Marco is willing to answer your questions, then drop it. This is ridiculous.”
