Layla's POV

I buried my face in my hands, my heart aching as I whispered, “Who do I love? Jason or Logan?” I knew the answer before I even asked the question. It was Logan. It had always been Logan. 

Even though I was just getting to know him, even though I was still trying to figure out who I was… I loved him.

My phone rang, jolting me out of my thoughts. I quickly grabbed it, glancing at Maddie to make sure she was still asleep before answering. 

“Hello?”

“Hey, beautiful.” Logan’s voice was soft, warm, and it sent a shiver down my spine. “How’s your friend doing?”

“She’s… getting better. Just resting now.” I glanced at Maddie, relieved to see her still fast asleep.

“That’s good. I was worried.”

We talked for a while, his voice soothing, his laughter making my heart flutter. I felt the weight on my chest begin to lift, my worries fading away as I lost myself in our conversation.
