Layla's POV

“Oh. My. God. Something did happen! I knew it! Look at you blushing like a schoolgirl!”

I covered my face with my hands, groaning. 

“Maddie, stop!”

She laughed, her voice full of mischief. 

“No way! You can’t hide it now. Come on, Layla, spill!” She poked my side, her eyes gleaming with curiosity.

I sighed, finally giving in. “Okay, fine… there was just… a little play of romance. That’s all.”

Maddie’s jaw dropped, and she let out a loud exclamation. 

“A little play of romance? Layla! You minx! I need more details!”

I buried my face in my hands, laughing in embarrassment. 

“I’m not giving you any more details!”

Maddie crossed her arms, pouting playfully. 

“You’re no fun.” But then her face softened, and she looked at me with a genuine smile. 

“I’m glad you’re happy, Layla. You deserve it.”

I felt a lump in my throat, my heart swelling with gra
