Layla's POV

Maddie didn’t say anything, but her silence was heavy, filled with unspoken words. We both knew Jason didn’t deserve this. But life wasn’t fair, and neither was love.

I hugged my knees to my chest, my mind a tangled mess of emotions. I wished things were simpler, that my heart would just make up its mind. 

But every time I thought of Jason, I felt guilt and obligation. And every time I thought of Logan… my heart raced with excitement and hope.

How was I supposed to choose between the man who had been my savior and the man who had awakened my heart?

I didn’t have an answer. And deep down, I was terrified of what my decision would mean for everyone involved.
