Layla's POV

I laughed, my heart swelling with joy. “Did you have fun?”

“Yes! And Daddy bought me ice cream! I got chocolate and strawberries!”

I grinned, picturing his little face smeared with ice cream. 

“Wow! Lucky you. You better save some for me when I get back.”

Little Jason giggled, his voice a sweet melody to my ears. 

“Okay, Mommy. I’ll save a big one just for you!”

I felt tears slide down my cheeks, my love for him overwhelming. 

“I love you, baby. Be good for Daddy, okay?”

“I love you too, Mommy!” he exclaimed, his voice full of pure, innocent joy. 

“Daddy says you’re having fun in Puerto Rico. Are you?”

I laughed softly. “It’s called Puerto Rico, baby. And yes, Mommy’s having fun. But I miss you so much.”
