Chapter 937

Layla's POV

Maddie let out a slow breath, but I could tell she was still processing everything.

"So Jason has no idea that the guy you danced with is Logan?" she clarified.

"No. And to be honest, I don’t know how he would react if he found out."

Maddie bit her lip, looking deep in thought.

"Maddie," I said hesitantly, "you told me before that if Jason ever asked me if I knew Logan, I should deny it. Why? Do they know each other?"

Maddie stiffened.

And for the first time since we started talking, she looked nervous.

"Layla… just listen to me on this, okay?" she said carefully. 

"If Jason ever asks about Logan, just act like you don’t know him. Trust me on this."

I narrowed my eyes. "Maddie, do you know something I don’t?"

She hesitated. "It’s complicated."

"Try me."

Maddie looked like she was debating whether or not to tell me the truth, but in the end, she shook her head.

"Not n
