Dani’s POV

Her hands were clenched into fists, her eyes darting between Logan and Jason like she couldn’t believe what was happening. 

And then, just when I thought Logan might break Jason’s nose, something unexpected happened.

Little Jason slipped from Layla’s grip and rushed toward them.

“Daddy!” The boy’s voice was high-pitched with urgency as he grabbed Logan’s arm.

And just like that, everything stopped.

It was like someone had thrown a bucket of ice water over Logan. His entire body froze, his fist still clenched mid-air. 

Jason was beneath him, groaning in pain, but Logan no longer seemed to care. Instead, his eyes slowly shifted to little Jason, who was gripping his arm tightly.

I held my breath, waiting to see what Logan would do next.

For a moment, he just stared at the kid. Then, with a deep, shaky breath, Logan released Jason and sat back.
