Chapter 968

Layla’s POV

After what felt like forever, Maddie finally pulled away, but she didn’t let go of my hands. She looked me straight in the eyes, her expression serious.

“Layla, listen to me,” she said, her voice calm but firm. 

“I know you’re hurting. I know it’s frustrating not remembering anything from your past, and I also know that waiting for your memories to come back on their own must feel like hell.”

I swallowed hard, nodding slowly. She was right. It did feel like hell.

Maddie squeezed my hands. “The doctor in New York told us not to remind you of your past. He said it could be dangerous. That you should only remember on your own.”

I frowned, remembering the little pieces of information Maddie had told me before about my accident. “Yeah… you said that before. But why?”

“Because if someone forces you to remember, you won’t get all your memories back…only some
