Layla's POV

The morning light entered through the slightly parted curtains as it shines a golden hue over the living room. 

I groaned softly as my eyes fluttered open, realizing that I had fallen asleep on the couch. 

A thick duvet covered me, shielding me from the morning chill. I didn’t remember covering myself last night, which meant Jason must have done it.

I sighed and sat up, stretching my arms before rubbing my eyes. My body felt stiff from sleeping in such an awkward position. 

I had intended to leave after making sure Jason was fine last night, but exhaustion had taken over, and I had unknowingly dozed off.

Pushing the duvet aside, I swung my legs off the couch and stood up. The apartment was quiet, except for the faint ticking of the clock on the wall. 

I figured Jason was still resting after everything that happened yesterday.
