Chapter 16

Andra guided me out of the medical room and down a narrow hallway. Jormun walked briskly in front of us, not once looking back at the two of us as we followed him through the hallway.

“Where are we going?” I asked Andra in a whisper.

“We are heading to the top floor, which is master’s penthouse,” she answered.

I looked at her in confusion.

“Oh, this building is a skyscraper. It has fifty floors. Three of them are medical and provide hospital care to shifters from all walks of life. We are currently on the third floor of the medical facilities, floor twenty-five. Floors forty-eight to fifty are where master resides.”

“And that is where we are heading?” I clarified.

“Yes, miss. We have prepared a room for you to reside in during your stay here,” Andra smiled.

I fell quiet as we came to a large set of elevator doors that were sitting in the middle of the narrow hallway. I watched as Jormun pulled out a card and put it up on the button panel to
