"I-I don't intend to do anything," said the boy, opening a nervous smile. He turned to me, making gestures with his eyebrows and eyes, really wanting me to get up and follow him. Frustration took over his face, but he stood firm. “Le, I think you should come with me. I... the boys want to talk to you about that subject."
There was no subject I could have in common with him or his friends. Everyone on the football team was avoiding getting closer because they had that fear that I could break into tears when I remembered my brother. And I really wanted that boy to be able to enjoy that same caution, because he was getting on my nerves.
