Chapter 22
I just got up when my ass was sore from the long moments sitting. I cleaned my eyes, sighed, and went back to my room. I tied my hair in a bun and got my cell phone again. No sign of Edward, but I reopened some web pages, looking for the universities I would be taking exams.
Despite the pain in my chest, despite still wanting to cry, I began to glimpse a future for myself. I started studying about dorms and college parties. As my eyes dried up by the tears shed by my brother, I could imagine myself in a different city, meeting different people. I could see life.
I already knew what I wanted for my life, so I decided that I should face my monsters and have my first meal in the dining room after a month locked in my room. My parents were already sitting, and a plate had been placed in the chair directly next to the headboard, and I sat down.
