“I know you gave your reasons, but I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that you put something on me. You could have simply pulled the duvet over me,” Erin said in a harsh whisper. Her voice came out harsher than she intended, but she could not find it in her to regret her words.

She had been trying to shut her eyes, but sleep eluded her. Each time she closed her eyes, the image of Uriah putting his briefs on her flashed through her mind. It unnerved her. The thought of him seeing her bare legs without her consent ran through her head all evening. Uriah had not slept either.

The sound of his breathing was not leveled. He had moved five times in the last five minutes too so she was certain he was not sleeping. She turned her head slightly to the side when she heard no response from him. She pressed her lips in a thin line and tapped her feet lightly on the bed.
