Chapter 5
“Mr. Uriah,” she called while standing up. He looked around the club and back at her before motioning her to sit back down.
“Sit, please. And call me Uriah. This is not the office,” he said. She sat down on the chair and tapped her feet on the floor. “What are you doing here?”
“It is my birthday,” she informed. His eyes widened in surprise, and he offered her a small smile.
“Your birthday? That is wonderful. Are you celebrating alone?”
“My best friend ditched me for some guy,” she said, pouting. He chuckled and offered her his hand. She looked at it and back to his face in confusion.
“Are you drunk?” He asked. His tone was full of amusement. She bit on her bottom lip but said nothing in reply. “I can replace her for the night,” he said. She tilted her head and studied him for a while before nodding in appreciation. “So, what are your plans for your birthday?”
