Chapter 8
Erin walked into the restaurant and looked around the whole place in search of Uriah. Her heart sank when she did not see him, but she convinced herself that he might have gotten stuck in traffic. She made her way to the middle of the restaurant and chose a table that made it possible for her to sit facing the door. She looked at her wristwatch to see that it was only ten minutes past 7 p.m. She chewed on her bottom lip nervously as she continued staring at the door.
A waiter dressed in blue trousers and a black dress shirt, paired with a black tie, walked up to her with a smile plastered on his face. His black hair was scattered in different directions, showing that he had run his hands through it a couple of times – from frustration maybe.
“Good evening, Miss. How may I help you this evening?” She glanced up at him and internally shivered at the grin on his face.
“I have not gone through the menu yet. Can you come back in ten?”
