Alpha Kanen’s POV

When I opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was Rose’s face above me, her eyes filled with tears and something else—something, it was as if she was happy to see me finally breathing fine and also, it was as if she was angry with me.

But then it all came rushing back to me—the argument, the way I lost control, and then…nothing. Darkness.

“Kanen, you’re awake!” Rose’s voice was filled with such relief.

I tried to sit up, immediately became dizzy, forcing me to lay back on the bed. Rose placed a gentle hand on my shoulder, keeping me still.

“Don’t try to move too quickly. You need to rest.” Rose quickly told me.

I nodded gently, still feeling the effects of whatever had caused me to collapse.

My body felt heavy, as if there were big bricks on my body.
