“I understand,” I whispered, though I wasn’t sure if I really did.

But I knew one thing for sure—I wasn’t going to leave Elise behind.

The wolf nodded slowly, as if knowing my decision.

“To reach the top of the mountain, you must follow the path that winds through the forest. It will be difficult, and you will face many challenges. But if you keep moving forward, you will eventually find the way.” The wolf instructed me.

“How will I know which path to take?” I asked, desperate for any guidance.

The wolf’s gaze turned towards the thick forest surrounding us. “Trust your instincts, and listen to the forest. It will guide you if you are willing to listen.” it said as if speaking in a language I don’t understand.

I didn’t fully understand what the wolf meant, but I nodded anyway.
