Chapter 55

Rose’s POV

I woke up the next morning wondering why I was so comfortable. For a moment it felt like I was in my bed.

My bed at home, my bed when I was still a princess.

I awake, and feel the thick covers above me. I sit up as if I was jolted. What?

I couldn’t believe I just slept on Alpha Kanen’s bed. It was almost as if I knew, as though I could feel his arms around me last night, but I thought it was one of these dreams. So that must mean he carried me in his arms last night.

Secretly, I wished I had been fully awake to enjoy the experience. The alpha’s hand around me, taking me to comfort and safety. I berated myself for sleeping in the midst of the horrendous cold. I let out a subtle groan, wondering why my head was even filled with these thoughts.

I muttered a greeting to him and left the room flustered. He doesn’t call me back or say anything to me. I walked towards the kitchen, knowing that’s where my next line of kitchen duty would
