"It's my first time doing it!" I giggled as I stared at Kaden. "And it was fun!"

We ended up sneaking some granola bars from the kitchen and munching on them in my room. It was such a great moment, and I felt this rush of happiness just watching him enjoy his snack.

We were lying in bed, my cheek resting against his chest, when we suddenly heard footsteps coming toward my room. Kaden shot up, but I quickly grabbed his shirt to keep him from bolting.

"No, don't leave!" I exclaimed, my eyes wide as I clung to him.

“It’s okay, princess,” he said, playfully ruffling my hair, which reminded me of my dad.

“Where are you off to?” I asked, glancing at the door. “Don’t worry, I’ve locked it.”

There was a brief pause before Kaden replied, “I’m not going anywhere.”
