I stood behind Damien as I watched him roar in pain. It wasn’t normal pain—it was the kind that came from a man who had lost his loved one.

As I stood there, watching Damien on his knees, screaming in anguish, my heart clenched at his evident pain.

“Damien, please tell me it isn’t what I think. Tell me, please,” I pleaded, desperation lacing my voice.
