Lucas and all he stood for—he wasn’t my husband anymore. From the moment I walked out of that house, I didn’t belong to him anymore, and I wanted nothing from him. Damien got up and embraced me, and I leaned into his arms.
“I love you, babe,” I whispered as I looked at him.
“How, when, why?” I asked as many things ran through my brain.
“I can’t let our babies come out as bastards, and I can’t let your image go down. We get married, just the two of us, tomorrow,” he whispered as he leaned in and kissed my lips.
“So we are going to get married, even when I’m already married?” I commented, looking sad. Our marriage would be void by society—Lucas hadn’t signed the divorce papers, and I doubted he would.
