Pain, anger, hatred, rage, pity — that was all I had felt for the past few weeks. It had been two weeks since I watched the life drain from Felix’s eyes. Nothing seemed to make sense anymore. I became numb soon after the event and unresponsive.

Lucas had taken me home that day and left me here at the villa while he returned to his mansion. Two weeks went by, and I had been quiet and had hardly spoken a word. I went to work and returned without seeing Damien’s face for two weeks.
