Xandros just dropped his luggage on the floor of his condo when he arrived there in the late afternoon. He also slumped onto his bed, his mind in turmoil because he couldn’t understand why the girl suddenly disappeared. He felt hurt, thinking that maybe he was the only one feeling that way, maybe he was the only one who saw something special in Ameira while for her, maybe what happened meant nothing.

His deep thoughts were interrupted by the ringing of his cellphone. Lacking enthusiasm, he took it out of his pocket and checked who was calling. Seeing his friend Gael’s name on the caller ID, he answered the call.

“Hello?” he greeted on the other line.

“How’s your lover boy status in Coron?” Gael asked, followed by a series of laughter. Xandros sighed and didn’t immediately respond. “Kendall told me that your mystery girl was with you in Coron. What a coincidence, right?”
