Ameira’s POV
All their eyes were on me, as if waiting for my answer, especially Mateo. I swallowed nervously as I saw Xandros looking at me, as if waiting for me to come up with another lie in front of his parents and Mateo. My mind raced, searching for a way to navigate this delicate situation.
“It’s probably not that unlikely for you and Xandros to have met in Coron because we know that the island isn’t that big,” Mateo said again, staring directly at me.
I could feel the heat in the room while I sat there... is this what they call the hot seat?
