Chapter 16. We Are Not Enemies

Nyla’s POV

“He is dead, right?” I asked both Mama T and Jenny, their eyes were glossy, and they couldn’t hide the emotions. I knew my dream was true. My father was dead, but how was it possible? Who killed him? Was it Jason’s mother? Could she possibly go to that length?

“I’m sorry, Nyla, we have been asked to come to claim the body,” Jenny said, coming closer to me.

“Argh!” I screamed so loudly that it could wake my boy, but I didn’t care. They have taken everything from me, every single thing. Just in a few days, my life has turned sour, so sour that I can’t tell what the next day will bring for me, sadness or happiness.

The only reason I became a breeder was for my father, and I couldn’t even set my eyes on him after the whole process just his dead body.

I kept sobbing till my eyes began to hurt, to hurt so badly. I refused to eat anything. I refused to even feed my baby. It was too much for me- too much pain just in a few days.
