As I continued to look at him, it was as if I was looking at the male version of me. He had my sharp jawline, and the same piercing blue eyes. Even his hair was the same shade of blond as mine.
He knitted in-between his brows, the way I always did when I was confused. Yet, he looked at me suspiciously while he folded his arms tightly across his chest.
“Hi, Evan,” I said sweetly, rising to great him.
He regarded my outstretched hand suspiciously and took it reluctantly in a handshake.
“Hi,” he said dryly.
The elderly woman entered the room again, carrying a cup of tea which she placed on a table in front of me. “Have some tea, child,” she said with a smile.
She then turned to Evan. “Evan dear, we have Everly to thank for my safe return. Without her help, I would probably be dead by now.”
Evan, who still had a scowl on his face, turned to me. “What happened?”
