Chapter 146. Manuel‘s Arrival

When we got to the entrance of the meeting hall I paused and hoped inside my heart that nothing bad had happened, especially anything that could implicate me. Else that would mean that my time here is done and I would be back to always running and fleeing for my life.

The doors were opened and I was ushered in. The table was round and wide and I could tell that this was a different meeting hall from the one I had first gone to. There were more guards on the table too than elders and leaders and I spotted Ryder sitting at the head of the table and Anthony by his side. There was a man standing in front of them by the table. As soon as I walked in one of the guards on the table threw a question at me.

“Madam there is someone here to see you. We believe he is an intruder and a spy but he mentioned your name when he got here and says he is here to see you.” The guard pointed at the man standing by the table. “Do you recognize this man?”
