Chapter 9. George Kingsman
The visitors were in the main building now with uncle Fergus and his wife, Agatha.
I hadn’t gone there yet to see what was happening and I was content with not getting called. All through the rest of my work in the kitchen I tried to avoid getting close to the main building at all.
But of course there was no way they were going to allow me stay in one place all day. There were visitors to tend to so I needed to go to the main building and get work done. For a few hours the other helps were called by Eleanor to come to the main building with food or towels or any other thing the visitors might require.
Then I was called.
We were to replace the food items on the dinner table with wine and cake. I had baked the cakes earlier on so I sliced them into several small shapes and started on my way to the main building with the rest of the helps.
