Chapter 13. Right Decision

Emily's POV

Despite my worries, I didn't forget to tell him that I was thankful. "I...I understand." I managed to say with a slightly trembling voice. "Thank you, for everything."

He replied gently. "You don't have to thank me. This is just as important for me as it is for you. Don't worry we are in this together and I'll make sure you get what you deserve. There's no thank me, really. I should be the one thanking you."

There was a playful tone in his voice. "Thank me? For what?" I was confused.

"For being you." His reply was so terse that I began asking myself questions again. The fact that his real intentions were still unclear. That was a very troubling situation which I had to take care of. His words were comforting, no doubt, but they didn't completely ease my anxiety.
